Awaken the Dawn is a ministry of the Fredericksburg Prayer Furnace which targets emerging postmodern culture with the gospel of Jesus. This emerging generation is in crisis while the church often sits by, offering only trips to amusement parks as a viable alternative to the pleasures of the this age and of this world. Our passion is to see a generation (young and old) fascinated with Jesus and gripped by their role in the drama that is unfolding on the earth. In light of this, we are calling the emerging generation to pursue God with wholehearted, "violent" abandonment.

We have been given four essential mandates for Awaken the Dawn.  We are laboring for a grass-roots movement of believers that will embody these simple realities:

  1. Worship and intimacy (passion for Jesus, prophetic musicians, singers, and artisans, contemplative prayer)
  2. Intercession (night and day prayer for justice, spiritual awakening, Joel 2 solemn assemblies)
  3. Supernatural ministry (forerunner ministry, the prophetic, healing, signs and wonders, preaching, etc.)
  4. Compassion/Justice (mercy for the poor and orphans, activism, mission) We seek to walk out all of the above only in the context of true community, authentic relationships, and discipleship. We believe that the season of the "man of power for the hour" ministry style is over. Therefore, we take authenticity and relationships very seriously.
Our flagship event is the annual Awaken the Dawn conference. This event gathers about 1500 young adults from around the nation for training, fasting and prayer, and encountering God.
